TANK FURNISHINGS
the furnishing of an aquarium is a very subjective affair, with no two fishkeepers likely to produce the same end result for similar fishes.again ,there has to be a balance between what the fishkeeper wants and what the fishes require.
tank furnishings include the gravel bed, rocks, logs, bark, twised roots and other tank decorations of inert of artificial meterials .

SELECTING A TANK
the qualities of an aquarium are different to the fishkeeper then to the fishes that live within it.
all the fishkeeper requires of a tank is that it holds water, looks smart and doesnt,t cost too much!the fieshes require living space, it is true , but the desing of the tank is critical for a far more important reason, as we shall see in this section of the site.

NDOOR AND OUTDOOR FISHES
what types of fishes can you keep indoors?the answer is almost any, providing you can find room for their aquarium, but generally the fishes do not exceed 20cm(8in)in size.within this limitation are practically all the goldfishes including the very many fancy varieties, the smaller wild fishes and juvenile forms of those larger species that are normally regarded as pooi fish.

INTRODUCTION
cold water fishkeeping oldest by far of the three main areas of the aquarium hobby.this should not be asurprising fact, for man became interested in fish(for food)and fishkeeping(for pleasure)long before the discovery of electricity led to the now taken for granted ease of tropical fishkeeping.
Despite its apparent narrowness of appeal, the coldwater aquarium has much to offer:the fishes can cover a wide range of sizes and colours ofthen exceeding those in the tropical field;and there is a very great opportunity for line-breeding,and the search for the perfect specimen is always being under taken by a coldwater fishkeeper somewhere.
